From August 6th 2021 COVID Certificate is required to access the Archeological Park of Ostia antica


In compliance with current government regulations, from August 6th 2021 it will be mandatory that visitors show their Green Pass (also "Digital COVID Certificate"), accompanied by a valid identity document, to access the sites and monuments of the Archeological Park of Ostia antica.

COVID-19 Green Pass is not required for children exempt from the vaccination campaign (under 12 years of age) and those exempt on the basis of appropriate medical certification.

With reference to entries from the countries of Israel, Canada, Japan and the United States, it should be noted that in relation to vaccination certificates issued by the health authorities of these countries, in accordance with the provisions of EU Recommendation no. 2021/912 of 20 May 2021, they must include at least the following data:

  • Identifiers of the person;
  • Information on the type of vaccine and date(s) of administration.

Please note that certificates shall be accepted if they are in Italian, English, French or Spanish. If the certificate is not issued in bilingual form and not in one of the four languages indicated in the Ordinance of the Minister of Health of 18 June 2021, it must be accompanied by a legal translation.

Other anti-COVID measures remain in force: at the entrance all visitors must undergo a temperature measurement and it is stricly mandatory to wear a mask inside the archeological area. Along the path visitors can also find dispensers of sanitizing gel.
